Re: THE MUSIC PARTY THREAD BEGINS HERE!!!

I played this one for our friends in New Zealand and Australia earlier today. It's written and performed by our friend Peatle Jville or just "Pete". It's a song he wrote and sang just for us and it's great!

https://soundcloud.com/eatleville/new-year

A little later I'm going to play another song from TIG who also wrote and performed a song about New Years. Stay tuned!

I also got an e-mail from Amy (mekidsmom and she has graciously recorded a song for Dondra and myself. We loved it, Amy and we both thank you for taking the time and trouble!

Oh no!!! I made a mistake up yonder y'all. I thought I was playing Peter Benson's cover of "It's All Going To Pot", but it was really a Bobby Helms tune called "Fraulein". I apologize, Peter and this is what should have played. ....

And this one comes from a site called "Friends Of Chordie". I'm thinking it is Roger again since his picture appears at the beginning of the site, but it's a great ballad: "Sorry Old  Doll"

Re: THE MUSIC PARTY THREAD BEGINS HERE!!!

Another one from TIG: A great song called "Country Music Can Fix A Broken Heart"i Nice job, Jim!

https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/country-m … oken-heart

Okay, I gotta put this one in. I wrote the song and Phill polished and recorded it for me. If you don't know the story, Grah1 did a cover of a tune of mazzy's called "Broken" (you heard it upthread).  He titled it "Broken Cover", meaning he was covering the song mazzy had already written and recorded.

I read it differently and titled it "Broken Cover" about a 15 year old kid who is in love with a 17 year old girl, and to let her know, he has to "break his cover" - come out of hiding, in other words. Here once again is Phill

So here its is: written in about an hour: https://soundcloud.com/bill-craig-7/broke-my-cover

Re: THE MUSIC PARTY THREAD BEGINS HERE!!!

Don't forget folks, if you have a song that I don't know about, feel free to insert it here between my choices.

As I mentioned before, I enjoy listening and watching Peter Benson on his YouTube channel and we've been playing his music ever since we came home from the hospital this evening. Peter has a very nice vocal range and he lets it show in this tune especially....

Another one of our ukulele playing musicians: SAK Li'l Steve. This one is called "Dead End Job". The ukes are really catching on here on Chordie and we look forward to hearing more!

Re: THE MUSIC PARTY THREAD BEGINS HERE!!!

Mojo01 has a way with a song. Whether it's a story song like "Johnny" or this one which is a one sided dialogue  between a man and a woman in a troubled relationship.....

https://soundcloud.com/mojo01/love-hate

This is yours truly in one of the few  times I ever went into the studio to record. If it sounds familiar it's sung to the tune "T For Texas". It was about a relationship I had while I was divorced from Dondra and I really let "Maggie" have it with both barrels in this song: "M for Maggie"

Sorry! "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player!" smile smile
