Topic: Mad Hatter Blues

[song]

{t: Change :  Mad Hatter Blues}

{c: I wrote this reflecting on the new Chordie  Website format – hope it makes sense and I hope you like it.  I also hope the chordiepro format works! }

[E] Change
[E] Sometimes it feels[A7] good, sometimes it feels so [E] sad
[E] Change
[E]It makes you think and [A7]it can  drive you quite [E] mad
[B7]  it’s always  around the corner baby
Getting’ [A7]  something  new, or losin’ what you [E] had

[E] Change
[E]  hold onto the [A7] old or   build upon the[E] new
[E] Change
[E] lt’s seeing  life from  [A7] different points of [E] view
[B7]   always  around the corner baby
a game of [A7]chance, and there ain't no [E] rules

{soc}
Chorus
[A7] Changes, changes, oh changes,
Tell me now  whatcha  gonna [E] do
[B7]  gonna play a new song baby, or
[A7]keep singing  those ol’ mad hatter  [E] blues ?

{eoc}

[E] Change
[E]  it can make you laugh  and[A7]  bring you right to [E] tears
[E] Change
[E] is it hope for [A7]tomorrow or a  harbinger of [E] fears
[B7]   always  around the corner baby
the constant [A7] question   of a thousand  [E] years

{soc}

Chorus
[A7] Changes, changes, oh changes,
Tell me now  whatcha  gonna [E] do
[B7] gonna play a new song baby, or
[A7]keep singing those ol’ mad hatter  [E] blues ?

{eoc}

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

Good one TIG,  change can be hard on us older folk, not that it's bad,  just difficult for us to figure out.

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

Tig good one,I played it and I also played it replacing the A with an A7 and it adds a bright spot.

my papy said son your going too drive me too drinking if you dont stop driving that   Hot  Rod  Lincoln!! Cmdr cody and his lost planet airman

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

Great lyrics,  haven't got round to playing it yet as I just spotted it while I'm at work. It's on the to do list for tonight. Nice one TIG, and thanks for sharing.

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

Thanks Guys

Dino you are right - A7 is much better - thanks for the tip _ i will edit and change it.

Mods - can you tell me why it won't go in to chord pro format - I entered it according to directions as I have always done in the past. Is there something new I need to do ?

I think this song has the potential for a nice guitar solo in it, right after the first chorus - - too bad I can't play enough to put one in smile

Thanks for taking a look!

Jim

The problem about the chord pro in the songwriting forum has been reported to Admin.
If there is anything that should be changed in the formatting then we will post here.
Hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Well recorded Jim

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

This is awesome! Liked hearing you play/sing it!

Eccentric doesn't bother me. 'Eccentric' being a poetic interpretation of a mathematical term meaning something that doesn't follow the lines - that's okay.

Re: Mad Hatter Blues

I think im messing with this one also!

Mal - Well, lady, I must say, you're my kinda stupid.
Mal - Jayne, your mouth is talking. You might wanna look to that
Kaylee - No power in the verse can stop me. BOOK-  you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theatre.
