OK kazz, we may have given you a hard time but people have worked hard and spent a lot of money to pull Chordie into the 21st century and make it more user friendly, acceptable and attractive for old and new people coming along hoping to find an easy way to get to grips with new songs...yeh we all do it.

You must also know that none of us here, moderators included, knew of your problems but if we did we would be the first to offer help and advice, listen to your problems and give love. Notice that even though we could, we didn't ban you, you can still go through the forums, pick out songs and even participate in discussions without some 10 year old giving you grief.

As always if you have a problem we are here, ready and willing to help. But DON'T SLAG US OFF WE DON'T LIKE IT!  mad  lol

I had some major "Stuff" going on last year. The Chordie family was there and a lot more supportive than my real family. Which I must say Thank You So Much. If you see them as allies instead of advesaries, you may see things in a different light. If you come in starting trouble, you will most likely get it in return. Try getting to know everyone first.

As for you having a hard time of it for the past several years, I hope that's behind you now.  Look to the future.  I can tell you that I was in a bad place this past winter, but the good grace and generosity of some Chordians when we got together in March helped pull me out of it.  The people here do genuinely care about one another.  So, I guess we got pretty defensive.  Sorry about that.

It's great to see you back in the Forums, Zurf ... you've been missed. You've obviously been suffering in silence for some time, and it's nice to know some of the Chordie family were alongside to help during those times. This is a great community here, and although distanced by geography, I've been pleased as punch to be a small part of the daily conversations in the Chordie forums.

I think there are quite a few of us that use the same stylist. smile

Ha ha.  My impression of an imaginary UG conversation.

Zurf: "I'm having trouble memorizing the solo for A Song.  Does anyone have any suggestions for making it simpler?"
UG1: "Learn to play ****head."
UG2: "Give up.  That's the easiest solo ever.  If you can't play that, you SUCK!!!"
UG3: " 'A Song' is stupid.  Why do you want to play that ****hole song."

Yeah.  I don't go on the forums there much any more.  There is no encouragement.  No help.

I have no idea what this is about Ads!! I never see any on mine, but I protect my laptop so, as far as I am concerned, anyone seeing ads need to look at their own set up and not blame Chordie that does not have a problem.

I agree.

You know, as far as Chordie goes, there are only a few ads placed in a few places.  Up top under the main navigation, and along the sides.  That's it.  If you are getting ad's covering pages or popping up randomly - it's not Chordie doing it.  You may have a virus.  If you need help with your computer, there's lots of folks here that will be happy to help with that too.  It's best not to hop on and blame the site that has people willing to listen and help.  Seriously - now a days there's ads on EVERY website.  If they're obnoxious, then it's not the site.

Anywho - Quaz - I think it's good you came back. Usually when people make their first post a complaint, they don't.  So, as others have said, please let us know what it is you're having issues with - more specifically - and we'll be more than happy to help.  smile  Irish - same thing.  Give us some specifics as to what your issue is, and we'll help.  There's really not any more ads on Chordie than there were on the old version of the site, so I'm really confused about the complaints there.

Being as that's the first post, shouldn't be it "Hello?"

Also, without the ads, it wouldn't be goodbye Irish1, but goodbye Chordie.  The ads are all along the side edge, and there are no video ads with sound the way there are on other sites (especially UG).  The sound and video are bandwidth hogs, and having sound play over me when I'm trying to learn a new song is just frustrating.

So, this idea that ads are bad is going to leave Irish1 rather disappointed.  Every site with decent features is either a pay site or has ads.

Re: Use to love this site...not anymore!

I think Irish1 may want the same treatment we gave jazz, I'm not inclined to do that....read the thread and ask advice or on your bike.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.
