Topic: "Miracle" Course?

Hello,

I'm a beginner, and I wonder if anyone has an

informed opinion of the "miricle" teaching

aid being offered in the ad by "fret2fret"

that is on this page.  Sounds too good to be

true, and the hype sort of puts me off.  But

maybe I'm just an ol' cynic. I would appreciate anyone's opinion.

Thanks.

Re: "Miracle" Course?

Yeah, you're not being cynical. You're being realistic. If miracle courses like that existed, everybody would play the guitar, and guitar would all of a sudden become boring and normal. The best thing you can do as a beginner, I think (and I'm a beginner too), is to just get a book on guitar, and memorize as many chords as you can, and practice them as often as you fancy. That, or find a guitar teacher, which is an even better option, although more expensive. Also, try to learn as many songs as you can from ear, instead of using tabs. You learn bad habits from tabs.

Re: "Miracle" Course?

Thanks Cmdr. You confirmed my suspicions.  I've

been around the block enough times that I

should know without asking that nothing worthwhile is quick 'n' easy.  So I'll buckle down and do the work.

Re: "Miracle" Course?

The fret2fret thing offers a method of remembering where everything is on the fretboard. Good if you need that sort of thing but that's all it does; it doesn't actually teach you much more than memory technique.

Only my opinion but it seems to be aimed at people who are ready to go that wee step farther. Not me yet!

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

Re: "Miracle" Course?

Thanks for the reply Alvee.  Guess there ain't

no easy shortcuts.

Re: "Miracle" Course?

OK, Fret2fret is just a way of remembering the note names on the fret board. It is OK and does work, but dosent teach guitar just a memory trick to remember the note names. Good for what it is, but you really should know, or be learning the notes all over the fretboard anyway. Keep your money and play more. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_cool.gif" border=0 alt="Cool">

Kind regards Bob..

Re: "Miracle" Course?
