Topic: Think You Have

Hello everyone heading into 2017.  I have been thinking about what I want and life in general when this poem came into my head.
I will call it ................                                        Think You Have. ....................................................................................

You have to stop sometimes, take time to think.
When Mother Nature hits the earth we forgot to love it reminds us with a sting.
It's a wake up shake as buildings once thought solid fall.
Its a wake up call  when solid trees are felled by powerfull  breath of  fast air.
Fast moving air creating turmoil to big for any human or their constructions  to fight.
It's a wake up call when time refuses to stop.
No clever devises to turn time back.
A young body now old.
A mind no longer sharp as axes of old cut into forrests full of healthy tree's.
Pills made to survive not provided for addictive recreation.
You have to stop sometimes take time to think.
In the process of training hard you lose but never forget the goal.
The necessary water of life we drink.
When dry we pray for more.
Engulfed by too much of what we wanted we drown crying for less.
You have to stop and think.
There are many living life on slippery slopes never sure of their ground.
They will never give up hope.
You have  to stop sometimes and count.
Count what is good.
Count on what you know is right.
Count on the fact that there are those who are prepared to fight for right.
Count your blessings as you blow away the cobwebs that tie you down.

Re: Think You Have

Peatle, that is so deep. It's more of a commentary or a sermon and I think it would mean something to everyone that reads it. I got the reference to earthquakes even though I have never experienced one (TG) I just hope everyone will read this and take their own meanings from it and learn.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Think You Have

That's amazing work, Peatle ... incredibly moving. The overall message reminds me of these Joni Mitchell lyrics:

"Don't it always seem to go, that we don't know what we got 'til it's gone."

Re: Think You Have

Thank you everyone or your comments.  I guess the only truth in life is what is moved outside of our control will never push out any good persons expectations for a proper future. A collective human spirit to fight for what is right will hopefully never  be completly supressed. The human ability  to stay positive  at times of hardship  will never stop an appreciation of what we have in life. The pursuite of good over evil. At the end words are just nothing without action.
