Topic: Neil Diamond

i've never been a big fan still it's sad when an artist of his standing decides to retire due to Parkinsons.

77 tomorrow, just want to wish him a happy birthday and long retirement. though he said he intends to continue writing and recording .

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Neil Diamond

I've always liked his stuff. This little-known Neil Diamond song has been in my repertoire for over 30 years.

Re: Neil Diamond

I saw my Father-in-law pass away from Parkinsons just under two years ago; it's a horrible way to go ... I was also thinking about going to his concert here in Perth, as my Mum was a big fan (when she was alive), and I never really thought I knew his music until I've been jamming with these older folks, then realized I know more than I thought I did ...

Re: Neil Diamond

My Mom's favorite artist, perhaps in a tie with Johnny Cash.

I like his approach to music. Play it loud, keep the lyrics simple, and don't sweat the technical stuff. His approach has had a big impact on me.
