Re: The ultimate easy/beginner songbook! Chordie collaboration..

This is a song called 'Closer'.  By a band from my hometown named 'Shack' (described many years ago by NME as 'The Best Band You've Never Heard').
It's nice and slow and easy enough to play:

This is a youtube video named Liverpool to Southport 2.  It has 'Closer' on it  It's also where I live and a place I love.  If you've got 5 minutes of time then pour yourself a drink or a cuppa and just, well, chill out and have a listen.
You won't be dissapointed:

Enjoy.

"And on payday, we'll tear the place down.
With a pint, in our hand's, and a bash 'em out band.
Sure we'll dance, to the sound, of the rain falling down.
In our Northern Industrial Town."

Jason,
your best chance of a reply to your question is to start a new thread for this question. What you have done is highjacked an already opened thread that has not got the title of " strumming patterns"

cheers

I find listening to the song OVER AND OVER AND OVER alot helps. If you have good ears you can just find it out that way. But thats all I've got. Sorry. I know how you feel... I can't get bar chords.

How about Bad Company's Shooting Star http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.x … g_star.txt

This one's not on chordie but I really like it. Just As and Ds, and you can't get much more simple than that: Lucinda Williams' People Talkin. Lyrics are out on the web some where as is the song from her World Without Tears album which I recommend.
