Topic: Wheels

Saturday is her favorite day
of the whole entire week
Shoppers eager to lose their pay
every trinket  they do seek

I walk among the frantic people
with my sister by my side
You think she is not your equal
because a wheelchair is her ride

Embarrassed glances as you walk by
hesitant nod to me
Not brave enough to catch her eye
Do you think she cannot see?

So her legs don't work as well as some
and she lives with daily pain
but she got her degree at twenty one
could you say the same?

She glides along the polished tile
an angel with clipped wings
How I love to see my sister smile
and to hear her when she sings.

Re: Wheels

Re: Wheels

Thanks  for the comments guys.
She is a terrific person, never lets her disability interfere with her life.
I'm teaching her to play guitar so she may be joining Chordie soon.
A big welcome would be very appreciated.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.
