Topic: No Answers

I've had this melody in my head for a while and have slowly been working out the chords. I have a ways to go for recording as there is a lot of finger picking and bar chords not to mention my frustrations at recording. Anyways today the lyrics came to me and I thought I would post it as a poem and maybe kick start me. lol

This is about just being a friend and being there when needed.

                                                   

                                                               No Answers

If your world comes crashing down,
And piece of mind just can't be found.
I---I will have no answers.

And your too scared to climb the wall.

If I ever find myself unable to find the words to express to my love and best friend how I feel about her, I'll say something like "Just read this poem on Chordie.  That's what I'm trying to say!".

Excellent Ken!  It's very good... and so true... being a good friend doesn't mean fixing things for someone, just being there to help them get through things when they're down.  Thank you for sharing this with us! smile

Thanks for the read big_smile The melody is there but the playing recording needs a lot of work...Oiy. True enough about being there. Most times we just need that non-judgmental shoulder to lean on and that will be enough to get the ball rolling.

It really is kinda strange that the first thing one tries to do to help someone when they are down is to fix the problem. Human nature I guess... with the heart in the right place. I did a little re-write twice today...Oiy Vey!!! I hope it didn't loose any meaning.

kudos,  i knew you were a great musician, but i never realised how brilliantly you wrote lyrics, and you put this together in a day?....there are no words i can say to express how i feel about this piece, so i'd just like to award you the victoria cross of poetry...brill

Great work Ken,

Billy Walker is still one of my faves to play. Its so good .

I have no doubt this will be a keeper also. The lyrics are wonderful.

For the last couple of months I've had the melody stuck in me wee little brain while being stuck on a topic to write. Then the "No Answers" phrase just popped in and everything seemed to fall into place. Funny how it works... sometimes.

In looking back at some older posts, I came back to this one and remembered the kind of wonderful heartfelt writing that drew me to the Poems section to begin with.  I think its a very relatable piece of writing.  I'm wondering if chords were ever put to it?  good stuff

Hi T-Rex, Our Good Friend Roger smile pointed this out or I would have missed it. I did finally put this to music and I have enclosed the link for the chords. I may have changed the lyrics somewhat but after reading the post I think I should go back to the original. It's been so long since I seen it I'm not sure.
