My Bday was a few days ago and the in-laws gave me 100 bucks! The next day I went to local GC in hopes of getting an inexpensive multi-effects board or perhaps an inexpensive amp. As I was waiting to talk to an employee I noticed their used guitar area and started to peruse. I found an Epi SG that was 109.00. I liked it and after playing I asked if they would come down in price at all. No go.
Next was a Washburn electric for 99.99. It was new but since it was a display it was considered "new". I was hesitant to pay 99.99 as I would have to pay the taxes and with money as tight as it is...Well, you know.
I then noticed a Squire Tele for 79.99! I am not a huge Squire fan but with only 100 bucks and no great need to buy an expensive guitar I thought, "What the heck."
As I reached for the Squire I had to move what looked like an Ibanez out of the way.I saw the price of the Ibanez: 59.99 and took a closer look. It turned out to be a Behringer Metalien iAxe629. I forgot about the Squire, took the Behringer down and plugged it in. It sounded great (to my inexperienced ears) and it fit my needs.
I also tried the Washburn but I could not get it to sound as good as the Behringer so I bought the Behringer!
Anyway, I now have an electric that I can mess around with and it only cost me 59 bucks and the wife did not even bat an eye when I brought it home!
Now I gotta scrounge up the bucks for the amp. I have one but I want a stronger one.

Forgot the specs!
Double cutaway
24 frets
Single-Single-Hum
Tremolo
Single volume and tone knobs.
Five position switch
Ash body
Bolt on maple neck with bound rosewood fretboard
The pu's are unknown and the trem is like the fender type.
I just put new strings on it, tuned it and adjusted the intonation. The guitar sounds even better.

Happy NGD and birthday. Great deals are always a plus and finding it on your b-day makes it that much sweeter. Congratulations

Congrats! NGDs are the best! I think we should all have one at least once a week. But since that's not realistic we will have to live vicariously. Thanks and enjoy!

Happy Birthday and NGD! Being a little thrifty (even if it's because you HAVE to) is still fun when you get something new! Enjoy!!

Happy birthday. Happy NGD. You know the rules - without pictures, it didn't happen.
$59 for a good sounding axe is a real score. Behringer isn't known for guitars, but they are known for electronics. So I'm betting you've got some good ones in that axe.
