Last night I surprised my wife by buying her a brand new motor scooter. she always wanted one. My point. I still don`t have a 12 string electric. I still drive a 20 year old junk pickup or 14 year old junk explorer. Was it worth it. YES YES YES. She is like a kid waiting for a new toy.It still has to be delivered. Probably the same way I felt when I drove up to Maine to pick up my red strat. Has anyone ever had that feeling? The anticipation of getting a new toy. I`m sure it will be a long 2 weeks for her. Unlike my used old things. She got to order the color she wanted. I still feel good giving her gifts. Especially when she least expects it.

I feel your joy. I just bought my wife an E-bike, sort of an electric moped. She's 71, and scoots around like a joy rider. I get more fun watching her ride it. Only problem, now she wants me to get one for myself. I have ridden hers and it's a blast.

That's sweet of you both. Bet they both will/do have lots of fun with them. Definitely know the feeling you're talking about. Kida like waiting for your birthday. 
BTW, I drive an '85 jeep Joey, so don't feel bad.

It is a 50cc. It is a SICILY. She wants it to go back and forth to work. It is a retro looking one.Looks kind of like an old vespa.(from the italian part of China). It is an overated moped.I could have found her a used moped cheasper right here but I opted to get her that "BAD BOY" instead. Also as far as facebook goes,I would love to facebook friend all my chordie friends. Everyone here is like one big happy online family. Your post reminds me of some reality repo show I was watching the other night. The job was to repo this scooter and of course there was a conflict with the owner. The guy that owned it shows up dressed completely in leather. Jacket, boots,chaps,gauntlets, the works. His girlfriend was dressed the same. Funny stuff. So, hope the wife enjoys the new ride and it gives you some leverage for a new goody for yourself. After 25 years of marriage I know how these things work. There is no such thing as happily married if the wife isn't happy.

Every year over here we have the Mods and Rockers reunion with a run from the Ace Cafe in London down to Brighton where the original riots happened. The Ace was originally a rockers cafe and the bikers had the nickname the "Ton Up Boys". The idea was to put a record on the juke box and you had to get out of the cafe, on your bike and and race down to the Hangar Lane roundabout and back to the cafe before the record ended. The Ace eventually closed down in the 70's as it's a really run down part of London but was bought back about 10 years ago and is now a fantastic cafe that really trades on its heritage. There are bike meets or custom / classic car meets there every weekend and they do a fantastic all day Full English brekkie.
The reunion is huge with thousands making the run on anything from old Lambretta's and classic bikes to the latest pocket rockets. It's a cracking day out and Brighton seafront all you can see is bikes for miles. I go on my GS every year, not quite period but hey, I need a bit of German efficiency covering about 18,000 miles a year as an observer for the Institute of Advanced Motoryclists over here.

It was delivered today. She got the color she originally wanted.(pink and charcoal grey). Oh most important,she loves it. If I could figure out the pic. thing I would post them. I will put them on facebook soon. When I take them.

JJJ,Got too see a big guy like you on a little pink scooter,thats better then Ice cream for desert! Also if that sheds not too large you might put in a few boxes of moth balls,to keep them or any other animals out.
