Re: Guitar Wars

That was a goood clip of two guitar gods,I think robbie did well with eric, but eric is more of a bluesman robbie is more of I can play anything you throw out there. Ithink the best I have ever seen was when Eric and Mark Knoffler played toghter.

Re: Guitar Wars

Thanks badeye! What an awesome performance. I loved them both, and wouldn't know how to decide which one was superior, but I liked Robbie Robertson's smile best. On the other hand, Eric Clapton had a really cute purple velvet jacket . . . but Robbie had a killer scarf, so I'm going with him. Yeah.

That was good.  My wife insisted on buying our last car purely because she liked the tail lights, so I can relate.

BTW, Macchio is actually being overdubbed by Ry Cooder.

Good one 'Nom. I liked that movie. It was my first taste of Steve Vai.

Re: Guitar Wars

I think that guitar duel in Crossroads was the first taste of Vai for many of us. I never saw the movie when it came out but I remember Vai's name being on the lips of every rock fan who had seen the movie. I also remember many of my friends who were into rock but thought any Macchio movie was a chick flick, going to see the movie just to watch Vai play for those few minutes. Not a good enough reason for me then. I figured I would wait until the duel was posted on You-Tube.

Re: Guitar Wars

My favorite.  I'm sure it was all scoped out in the studio, but how they keep all that technique getting tougher and tougher while still maintaining the mellow feel of the song is impressive to me.

Re: Guitar Wars

Most ppl dont realize Iommi and Lita dated, but they would do some great live jams.  Lita does not get much credit for her guitar work. Mainly due to 80s vids making her a bombshell face not a guitarist.
