The mic in it is not very good.  Use an external mic with it.

do you run the mic into the mic input on the pc? if so it sounds as if you have to set the mic as a default audio input how did you set it up? smile

I have two setups for mics.  One is a single mic plugged into the USB.  The other is two mics plugged into an Alesis mixer which in turn plugs into the USB port.  The webcam program identifies the the external mics and you can select which ones to use with the camera.

Thanks Pete I can use my BR-8 and plug it into the auxliary input on my pc with my Sure SM-58 for vocals and plug my acoustic or Strat into the BR-8 from what you say it should reconize the signal smile

I looked at a few webcams and decided on this its a microsoft HD I got it on sale at Walmart online for $24.00 I can pick it up at the store 4 miles from my house next week it sells for almost twice this amount it has all the features I am looking for and I can use my own mic smile
