Solo acoustic reggae songs are tough - are you trying to retain the reggae feel or do your own thang with it?

I think with reggae you have to work the rhythm around the off beat.
Sounds easy and isn't

Unless you play it with all barre chords you can't get that reggae feel because of the little muting thing that you need to do.

Singing reggae most vocal are on the off beat, just opposite of most vocals, don't use standard chords, play variations, a lot of muting .... on three little birds try just doing down strokes to get feel of the rhythm.
