Topic: I am attempting to learn a song -- Black Water by Doobie Brothers

The song calls for Double Drop Down Tuning. I have an electronic tuner. When I tune the high and low E strings to D it sounds wrong.

Try it in standard tuning. I never saw any tabs or sheets that have called for drop tuning for that song

I agree with JJJ.  Standard tuning.  This version sounds pretty good to me if you play the Em7 as 020000.

Just drop the low "E" string to "D." Play the chords as shown on the link above and add the bass line on the low string.
