Topic: What is your favorite song.

You can only pick one. Think hard. Which song is your absolute all time favorite. It doesn`t have to be your favorite band or singer. Just the one song that speaks to you the most. The deepest lyrics or best music. The one that floats your boat the most. My favorite song of all time is " Burning Bridges" by The Mike Curb Congregation.  Unbelievable lyrics.  It was a hit in 1970. It also played at the end of the movie "Kelly`s Heroes" Another great movie.

Finale of Bethoven's 9th symphony.    The man was deaf, dying, and managed to write one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.

That's a tough question, but the one song I play every time I pick up my guitar is house of the rising sun.  It must be the one that speaks the loudest to me.

When that song came out in '67 I was playing drums in a rock band and that song just blew me away.  I was in a local burger joint once that summer and played the song 12 straight times on the juke box, driving one of the waitresses crazy.  My oldest daughter is my "brown-eyed girl" and we danced to that song at her wedding.

My favorite song is probably one I wrote last year called "Hard Times".  My favorite song written by someone else is "Never Leave Harlan  Alive" by Darrell Scott.

"I Heard That Lonesome Whistle Blow" - Hank

Hank's prosepctive gutiar player said: "Mr Williams, I'm not sure I can play for you, the onliest chords I know are C D & G"
Hank repleis, after a short pause: "Well, what else is there?"

Re: What is your favorite song.

Desperado or Killing me softly.  I can't decide on just one. Desperado speaks to me but I "feel" Killing me Softly.

He gave the criteria that the song speaks to you. I can't hear River Morning without smelling coffee and wet ashes, hearing water rippling, or feeling cold neoprene.  Though myriver mornings don't involve the roaring rapids and perfet runs of your song, I think the anticipation is the same.
