The Takamine i use in the UK is : Takamine GD10CE-NS 6 string, and you're so right about the sound.
I bought a Tanglewood in a beautiful Tiger Purple colour first, problem was the more i played it the worse it sounded
and as i had a gig coming up i couldn't risk it sounding bad, so i took it back and got me this Takamine, not looked back since.
In Crete i have my 12 string Takamine EG523SC again a beautiful sounding guitar.

Playing with the music on a stand is a necessary evil Pete my old brain refuses to store too many things these days ,come to think of it who am I ? where am I ? oh yes I remember now its Friday...isn't it ?

I use music in froNt of me so much that I can't play hardly anything without it. I'm not sure if it is Friday. I don't keep track since I retired Grah1

It is sort of frowned upon in the UK, and certainly all the places i have played i am the only one with a stand. I just say right at the beginning why i am using it, sort of make a joke out of it and it's then accepted. To be honest though, I dont care what people think anymore, I'm old and ugly enough to do what i want, how i wont and where i wont

I love the attatudes here and I don't care anymore if someone does not like the way I look either,I keep myself my home clean so I am good with that.
