Topic: When You Got The Blues - Original Compo (Country/Folk)

Hi,

I wanna share with you one of my own original song, it's call "When You Got The Blues", it's folk/country, well I guess!?
I wanna know what you think about this song, do you like it? Is it listenable? I'm not at ease with singing...

My family told me I have a nasal voice... I tried different ways to sing, with this one I can do what I want without any pain on the neck/throat... But if you have any tips it's ok! By the way, I saw it's common on folk/country song, I'm maybe influenced by what I use to listen...

It may be better too slow down for a blues tune and add some chords in the 7ths.

Thanks Jandle!
And dino48 it's not a blues tune... I just use the word "blues" because it's when you're sad/when you got the blues...

Re: When You Got The Blues - Original Compo (Country/Folk)

Hi Curtis. I find your style of singing and the style of the song is quite "olde English" folk (not country or blues) yet your writing has a modern feel in the words of the story, but there's nothing wrong with that.

The only improvement I can see is recording with a band to get some bass and drums and maybe a harmony or two, having said that, it stands as a solo effort.

My voice is quite nasal I think and squeaky too, my answer is to get a good mic and mixer and a ton of effects!

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.
