Graham

I know you're being serious and all, but I can't resist.

Maybe you should include this little sing along and ask your wife if it's okay to do this one. smile

In reality - I only knew three of those songs.  I think you should include some Eric Clapton , it's well known and you nail Clapton every time!
The other one that I would suggest is Van Morrison's Have I told you lately... I think that would be a perfect night ending song for your set...and your voice is perfect for it.

But then again, I'm not  musician - what the hell do I know? smile

Good luck Graham

Re: Top 20 sing along songs

Jim its funny you posted a comedy song ,for  years  I  have  written comedy  songs  but  I  usualy  only  do  them at  private  functions  or  party's  for  friends as  some  of  the  lyrics are  a bit  crude  .I  think  I  can adapt  the  one  you  posted  though .
Brian  We  used  to  do  the  Dave  Edmonds  stuff   a  few  years  back  so  maybe  I  can give  it  another  go ,re  the  Quo I've  tried  to  avoid  them for  years even though  I am a  big  fan ,maybe  I  will    try  one  or  two  of  theirs .
Joe, when I  played  with  Cindy  Scholl  from Maine we  used  to  do  the  Van Morrison  stuff always  went  well ,great  suggestions guys  .

Re: Top 20 sing along songs

Might not be quite as appropriate or as well received on your side of the pond but Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land is a great sing-a-long over here.

One of the original American folk artists.

Re: Top 20 sing along songs

I suppose the popularity of "sing along" songs depends on the crowd and location. Anyone performing here in the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio better have these songs in their repertoire:

Circle be Unbroken
Wagon Wheel
Pancho and Lefty
Dead Skunk
Fox on the Run
You Ain't Goin Nowhere
Paradise
Rocky Top
Country Roads
Rocky Mountain High

Indeed.  Particularly if everyone is drunken, and they know *all* the verses.
