Topic: Erlewine Neck Jig

Just watched this 5 1/2 minute video a couple times, and found it fascinating. Getting the neck & frets at just the perfect place can make or break how a guitar plays. Fret buzz, dead notes, inconsistent action, etc. are all things that affect how well a guitar plays. This device is pretty cool, and a luthier who uses something like this has a better chance at getting it perfect:

Stewart- MacDonald (aka Stew-Mac) is located in nearby Athens, Ohio where I attended college back in the 60's.  Over the years I've bought tools and parts from them for working on my guitars so I get their catalogs and am on their mailing list to get "tech tips" and videos. It's pretty amazing some of the tools, ideas, gizmos and contraptions the techs at Stew-Mac  have developed to make working on stringed instruments easier.

You just can't show me things like this, I'll be awake all night thinking about it. That jig is like a piece of art, beautiful in form and function.

Plus Freight and Import Tariffs.....  You know how it works, have a good idea of how it's made, and can likely find someone to build something similar locally for less....
but might face a Patent Suit.
