That was really good - I can't remember ever hearing that song, although my Mum was a big John Denver fan. When she passed away I got all her old records, so I may even have it in my collection and not know it. Really suited your voice!!!

Those drawings were pretty impressive; I'm still at the "stick figure" stage smile The song was pretty good, but I think one of the strings wasn't quite in tune ... so it must be true that it happens to the best of us ...

Re: DECEMBER 2017 FSOTM - CHRISTMAS SONGS

Neo you and your fantastic guitar and your wife cool vocals make you two a beautiful duo. The kids backing vocal adds to the  videos  warm family vibe, Good ear my twenty dollar guitar from cash converters needs new strings and tuning up. I have been to lazy to do it. My voice is K Wrap but hopefully the short burst covered a lot of my musical  down falls...
I just played the video of me to my wife she winced in pain and told me that it was terrible.   She loved you and your wife video.
Cheers Pete

Neo
Great performance.
Your wife has an outstanding voice!
I too liked the children in the background - it made the song feel quite "Christmasy"
and I was thinking after you sent the info on Perth, that songs about Christmas that include descriptions
of winter snow and cold weather might not apply to half the world smile (like mine - https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/jim-kenyo … -childmp3)  smile

Peatle
Wonderful piece on the art... you always provide such cool information.
and yea.... my wife winches just about every time- unless someone is covering one of my songs  smile

Merry Christmas to you both !

Re: DECEMBER 2017 FSOTM - CHRISTMAS SONGS

A good  Christmas song you wrote EB. I also like the photo of the Pohutukawa tree in flower with your song.  For those who don't know what a  Pohutukawa trees is. The Pohutukawa tree with its crimson flower has become an established part of the New Zealand Christmas tradition. It only flowers on or around Christmas and New Years.

Nice!! We get the WA Christmas tree, Nuytsia floribunda - which looks like this:

And our little Christmas spider, I haven't seen one yet this year (but we had a long, wet, winter):

And here is an entertaining piece written by an American scientist, which explains the situation here quite well: http://aussieshed.blogspot.com.au/2011/ … -year.html

Re: DECEMBER 2017 FSOTM - CHRISTMAS SONGS

Neo I enjoyed the article. I have always found Australia's Flora and Fauna to be fascinating.  The other thing that interested me was how Indigenous Australians lived with nature before  colonization by new settlers and introduced species.
