Topic: Christmas Songs

Hi Gang

Yes I know it's only August and the last thing we want to think about is Christmas, but we have been asked to do a few song at the local Christmas Lights turn on.

What would be your favorite Christmas songs for a duo with a female singer and guitarist to do.

Clare wants to do "Rocking around the Christmas tree" and "Santa Baby" and I like Steve Earles "Nothing but a child" so anything upbeat, country or folkey or popish

Any thoughts?

Hi Howard

I know some folk have got public songbooks here on chordie that are dedicated for christmas.

It is only August but the earlier you learn them the better they will sound in a few months time.

There is a good collection in the public song books ,but you can't beat someone saying "this is the best christmas song all time"
I think I'm asking for a song thats a little off the main stream. Just been having a thrash at "Grandma got run over by a reindeer". I think this is going to be fun
