Re: Let's Hear About Your Gigs

We played at a Heritage Festival in the little town where my grandson, Casey, attends third grade.
We were scheduled to play 30 minutes but soon after we started, the sound guys who had been playing kareoke before, asked us to play on for another hour to prevent certain singers from coming back again. Why not?
Casey spotted his teacher and several classmates in the crowd and began suggesting  songs he wanted to play. I liked his calls and we played them. He went on to call all but one tune in our hour and a half set. He called a great set,. I didn't know he could do that. Cool!
The next day in school, Casey got a thumbs up and a "Good job" from his teacher as well as several posive comments from his classmates on his music as well as his "Case-o" blog on U-Tube.

It didn't go to his head and I don't think it ever will.
He remains a humble boy, kind and well intended.
He thinks everybody is as talented as he is.

Re: Let's Hear About Your Gigs

Hey Wlbaye ,
   Thanks for the invite ...
Btw , I've enjoyed your videos , keep em coming ... Nothing like watching someone with just a guitar and voice ... I wish more of the people that have the tech capability would put videos up ... I'd still like to figure out how to put up guitar pics ...
Also , Uffda ?? You must watch too many movies , L O L ... I've lived in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota most of my life and I've probably only heard that a handfull of times ... Mostly by people making fun of that movie ( Fargo ) , L O L ........

Re: Let's Hear About Your Gigs

Heya Jerry,

I lived in western ND most of my life and moved to Wyoming about six years ago. The community I come from are mostly Norwegians and my wife's family are Norwegians. We heard the Uffda alot around dem. After the movie Fargo I heard it a little too much smile  My oldest daughter was telemarketing shortly after the movie Fargo come out and nearly everyone she talked to asked her if she had seen the movie, cause she talks with a norwegian accent. She wanted to scream ENUFF. Yah shure you betcha smile
Thanksgiving is coming up so Lutefisk and Lefsa are on the way smile

I use photobucket and you can just copy and paste from their site, if you click on a pic it has all the img tags and junk already done for you so you can just copy and paste.

If your brain is part of the process, you're missing it. You should play like a drowning man, struggling to reach shore. If you can trap that feeling, then you have something that is fur bearing.

Re: Let's Hear About Your Gigs

Guitarpix,
Enjoyed your post.
At age 68, I cannot balance well enough to ride a skateboard even though I am immature enough to try it. I borrow Casey's Fuzion Scooter so I can go board banging with Case and his dad in parking lots on Sundays. If I have a handle bar to hold and steer, I can stay on it okay.
They won't let me in the skatepark with it. I have to be content to be a spectator, there.
However one of the skate park managers plays guitar and has a new plastic body guitar that he will share. I go inside and jam with him while the boys bust their butts on the ramps.
