Public songbooks
The first 7 songs I learned, each song adds one new chord to your arsenal so you can learn a new chord and have a song to go with it. I worked on these it in this order: Leaving on a Jet Plane, Tom Dooley, Cats in the Cradle, You are my Sunshine, Amazing Grace, Blowin' in the wind, Our God (you could hold off on Blowin' in the wind till the end, it's tricky but a fun one to practice faster changes!) Don't stress about strumming patterns, just have fun!
Daniel Thomas, Bob Dylan, Ugly Kid Joe, John Denver, Hillsong, Misc. Traditional and Traditional
Some easier songs to play around with. I'm not an advanced player at all but still like to relax and play when I get a chance. These are some of the songs I mess around with.
U2, Indigo Girls, by Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi, John Cougar Mellencamp, John Mellencamp, Rod Stewart, Cat Stevens, Tonic, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow and Matchbox 20
