These songs all have the Minor Chord Progression. If you learn that, songs of this type will not be hard to play. There is also a Major Chord progression and I am sure there are others too. learning this will make learning guitar easier. Have fun!

The first 7 songs I learned, each song adds one new chord to your arsenal so you can learn a new chord and have a song to go with it. I worked on these it in this order: Leaving on a Jet Plane, Tom Dooley, Cats in the Cradle, You are my Sunshine, Amazing Grace, Blowin' in the wind, Our God (you could hold off on Blowin' in the wind till the end, it's tricky but a fun one to practice faster changes!) Don't stress about strumming patterns, just have fun!
