Atreyu

Atreyu is a band from Orange County, California, consisting of Dan Jacobs, Travis Miguel, Marc McKnight?, Brandon Saller and Alex Varkatzas. The band was formed as "Retribution" and later changed their name to "Atreyu" reportedly named after the Atreyu character from The Neverending Story ¹.

The band released two independent EPs before being signed to Victory Records. Following their signing, the band released their debut album, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses (2002). Two singles were released from the album, "Ain't Love Grand" and "Lip Gloss and Black." The latter quickly became a staple of the band's live shows and is frequently performed last.
