Boy Howdy

"Boy Howdy" was an American country music band that scored a couple of hits on the country charts in the mid-1990's. Their music was reminiscent of West Coast country-rock bands such as The Eagles, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Boy Howdy was founded in 1990, in Los Angeles, California. (Before they materialized, most of the members either were solo artists or played with other singers and bands.) A year into their union, the band released an independent single titled, "When Johnny Comes Marchin' Home Again," at the height of the Gulf War. The band received such a huge response over the song that it caught the attention of a record label in Nashville, Tennessee, called Curb Records. Curb eventually signed them to the label. In 1992, Curb released Boy Howdy's debut album titled, ''Welcome to Howdywood''.
