==History=
Formed in January 2004, things have moved fast for The Departure. The Northampton four piece, comprising of David Jones (vocals/guitar), Ben Winton (bass), Sam Harvey (guitar), and Andy Hobson (drums) were signed after playing only three gigs and being together for just four months. Front man David says the band was started “because it is the only way we can all express ourselves properly, there is nothing like the buzz of making music with your friends in a room together - and dreaming of taking over the world! It’s the best form of self expression there is.” With former guitarist, Lee Irons, The Departure signed to Parlophone, a label steeped in history and with great British bands such as Blur, Coldplay, Radiohead and Supergrass also attached to them, suggesting that they too could become as celebrated and as adored as their new label mates. < Unsourced image removed: Image:1499818-2A.jpg -->
