Greenskeepers

The Greenskeepers are a Chicago music group. One of their most notable tracks is "Lotion", a song that pays homage to Buffalo Bill, the fictitious serial killer featured in the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs. The chorus of "Lotion" comes from Buffalo Bill's most recognizable line of dialogue in the film, that being "it rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."

Recently, "Lotion" was featured prominently in "Much Too Much," a second season episode of Grey's Anatomy that was originally broadcast on November 27, 2005. As the song plays in the background, Dr. George O'Malley (played by T.R. Knight) warns Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) that if she does not curb her recent promiscuity that she will end up in a pit with a killer ordering her to rub the lotion on her skin.

The band was heavily championed by the late British DJ John Peel, their track Low & Sweet appearing in his 2001 Festive Fifty.
