Jack Greene (born January 7, 1930) is an American country musician nicknamed the "Jolly Green Giant" and well known for his 1967 hit "There Goes My Everything."
Greene was born on January 7, 1930, in Maryville, Tennessee. He started his music career as a vocalist in Ernest Tubb's band, The Texas Troubadors. Tubb encouraged him to pursue a solo career, and Greene achieved great success right away. In 1967, he received the prestigious awards for Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year from the Country Music Association. In all, he has recorded nine number-one Billboard country hits.
Greene currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where he regularly performs at the Grand Ole Opry.
