L.A. Guns

"L.A. Guns" is a rock band from Los Angeles, California which came to prominence in the 1980s.

The music of L.A. Guns is frequently associated with the L.A. glam metal scene which grew up around the Sunset Strip in the 1980s, in particular the Sleaze Glam/Sleaze Rock subgenre, of which Guns N' Roses (who featured at least three, some sources claim all four, of the original L.A. Guns members) was the most prominent exponent, generally preferring an anti-social, white trash image to elaborate make-up and costumes. The music and image of L.A. Guns is often referred to as "sleaze", the group dressed in all black with cowboy boots.


In Los Angeles, during 1983. Guitarist Tracii Guns formed the L.A. Guns with singer Axl Rose, bassist Ole Beich, and drummer Rob Gardner. Axl later quit to form Hollywood Rose and was replaced by Michael Jagosz. The band demoed in 1984, but Tracii and Rob left to reform with Axl as Guns N' Roses (named after L.A Guns and Hollywood Rose, not Tracii Guns and Axl Rose) and L.A. Guns broke up.
