Marty Casey is a Chicago-based musician and the lead singer of the band Lovehammers. Casey was born on September 26, 1973 and is the youngest of six children. Casey is a modern rock-based singer who competed in the reality show Rock Star: INXS. Casey made it to the final two of the competition, but lost to the eventual winner J.D. Fortune.
During the competition, Casey gained the respect of the INXS band members as well as the fans. His performances were consistently given high marks. During the competition he performed an original song called "Trees" which became a fan-favorite.
After revealing the selection of Fortune as the new INXS front man, INXS guitarist Tim Farriss said he wanted to talk to Casey about potentially opening for INXS on tour. Casey and Lovehammers were the opening act for INXS' 2006 World Tour. They released their major label debut album, Marty Casey and Lovehammers, on 24 January 2006.
