Misery Signals is a metalcore/mathcore band formed in Wisconsin in 2002. Often mixing melodic guitar riffs with technical playing and odd time signatures, which is mostly defined by the drums' double bass.
Signals was formed by Ryan Morgan and Kyle Johnson following the break up of 7 Angels 7 Plagues. Their debut album Of Malice and the Magnum Heart was released on Ferret Records in 2004 and was met with critical acclaim. Since the release of the album, Misery Signals has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan with bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Bleeding Through, Strapping Young Lad, Zao, High on Fire, and Eighteen Visions.
In January 2006 Misery Signals announced that vocalist Jesse Zaraska had parted ways with the band to . He was subsequently replaced by Karl Schubach.
