Nick Carter

Nickolas Gene Carter (born January 28, 1980) is an American musician and pop singer. He is a member of the popular music band the Backstreet Boys.

= Carter was born in Jamestown, New York. His father, Robert Gene Carter, is of Jewish descent and his mother, Jane Elizabeth Spaulding, is a Mayflower descendant of Welsh, Irish, German, English and 1/4 Blackfoot ancestry. Carter's siblings include Angel, Leslie, Bobbie Jean "B.J." and singer Aaron Carter. He also has an older half-sister named Ginger from his father's first marriage.

At the time of his birth, his parents were running a night club called the Yankee Rebel in New York City; a few years later, they moved to Tampa, Florida and managed a retirement home for senior citizens. Carter, who showed early musical talent, began auditioning for acting roles in the early 1990s, and appeared in an unbilled role in the film Edward Scissorhands (1990).
