Paulina Rubio

Paulina Rubio Dosamantes (born June 17, 1971 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico) is a Mexican singer and actress. She is the daughter of Susana Dosamantes, a Mexican film star and actress of telenovelas. Rubio's music is popular in Latin America, Spain, and the United States. English-speakers may recognize her from her 2002 hit single "Don't Say Goodbye". Her album sales exceeds ten million copies worldwide and a new album entitled Ananda will be released September 19, 2006. Paulina Rubio is the older of two siblings. She has a younger brother named Enrique. At age 5, Paulina was taking singing, acting, painting, jazz and dance lessons while enrolled at what is now the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) in Mexico. After two years of being there, Pedro Damián and Martha Zavaleta contacted Paulina's parents for their approval in Paulina joining a band that would be formed by children from the center.
