The "Spice Girls" were an all-female pop group who formed in 1994 in London, England. They were a diverse group of five young women who embraced merchandising and introduced the term ''Girl Power'' into popular discourse.
After releasing their début single, "Wannabe", in 1996, the group went on to become a major pop phenomenon.
Selling in excess of 53 million records, they are one of the biggest selling female groups of all time. They released three studio albums and ten singles and starred in the film ''Spiceworld: The Movie'', which grossed $75 million (US) globally at the box office.
