Suburban Legends is a seven piece third-wave ska band from Orange County, California. They played 962 performances at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort in 2001.
The music they play is rather different from other ska-punk bands. Their music is not only ska, but takes influence from funk, metal, and pop. Live shows often involve humorous banter between members as well as synchronized dance moves performed by horn players - sometimes joined by the lead singer. As of late May 2005, trumpet player Aaron Bertram, left the band to marry his fiancé. He was replaced by trumpet player Luis Beza. They appeared on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon with special guest Vince Walker, a former bandmate, on September 4, 2005 for the third year in a row. It was lead singer Tim Maurer's final performance with the band, as he left in September 2005. He was replaced by former trumpet player Vince Walker, who returned to the band in the same performance, oddly switching roles from horns to vocals.
