Titiyo

Titiyo Yambalu Felicia Jah (born July 23 1967) is a Swedish singer.

Titiyo Jah grew up in Solna, Sweden and discovered her own singing abilities when invited by her older half-sister Neneh Cherry to sing with her at a studio in London. She also recorded backing vocals for a range of Swedish artists, including Army of Lovers. In 1989 Titiyo hit the Swedish charts in her own right with Man in the Moon, the first soul hit in Sweden, and instantly became the representative of black music in Sweden. But towards the end of the nineties her success had decreased as her novelty wore off and new acts such as Robyn had appeared.

In 2001 Titiyo made a comeback with her successful album Come Along, spawning the international hit with the same name. The album was co-written by Peter Svensson from The Cardigans and Joakim Berg from the band Kent. Her Greatest Hits includes a few new songs, amongst them Loving out of Nothing, charting in Scandinavia in early 2005.

Titiyo has been awarded four Swedish Grammis.
