(Only the part designated by the dashed line repeats.) Slashes mean to hit the same chord again. The spacing of the letters in NO WAY represents the timing of the song! The only way to get it right is to listen to the tape. Switching between the major and sustained chords in Fig. 1 is very difficult -- I recommend using your pinky to barre the 3rd and 4th strings. This takes some work! Here is an example of the fills the guitarist throws in during the end part of Fig. 1 (the other ones are just variations on this theme).
