I'm Good Now  Bob Schneider

I?m Good Now
Bob Schneider
Bob is a legend around the Austin music scene,
and he?s not super country, as his music leans more toward Jack
Johnson type rock, but he?s awesome and his country
influence becomes very apparent in songs like this one. I'm posting
because I looked everywhere for this song (lyrics or tabs) when I
heard it at a solo acoustic show of his, and couldnt find it.
So I occasionally cover this song and I think some of y'all may
like it too. He sounds kind of like Robert Earl Keen to me on
Intro and first verse lick

 e----x----------------------x---- (repeat as necessary)
 B----x----------------------x----
 G----0----------------------0----
 D----2------------0---------2----
 A----2---2---4-------2------2----
 E--0---------------------0-------

Verse 1:
Em(lick above)
There was a time in West Virginia
When the cops showed up when the shop blowed up
Man we didn?t know what was gonna happen.
Em(same lick)
Messed the whole place up and tried to kill my dad
Took all the money I had and what was really bad
Was I couldn?t do nothing to stop ?em.
Bridges:
[C]Had to move to Mexico to get a[D]way
You reap the seeds you sew, or so they s[Em]ay,
I spent most of my nights at a place called the Rain[C]bow Bar.
Drinking cerv[G]ezas all night l[D]ong singing M[C]exican love s[G]ongs,
[C]Getting all the words all wro[G]ng not givin a d[D]amn.
Hoping [G]that my luck might c[D]hange, feeling [C]crazy and acting [G]strange,
Never [C]worried bout the [G]danger I was [D]in.
Cause I?ve had a m[Em]ighty bad r[C]un of luck since y[G]ou left this t[D]own,
Somet[Em]imes you hit the [C]brakes but you [G]cant slow d[D]own,
I know what I [Em]want on my damn [C]tombstone when they [G]put me in the [D]ground,
Em(let ring)
Tell ?em to write it big and tall or not at all.
Chorus:
Just put [G]I?m [D]good now[Em]?[C]
[G]I?m g[D]ood [Em]now?.[C]
[G]I?m g[D]ood [Em]now?[C]
[G]I?m g[D]ood [Em]now.[C]
(Everything is the same as previous verse, bridges and chorus, except
the lick is different, so I just bass strum that E minor and it sounds good)
Well as the story goes, things only got worse, I fell in love with a nurse,
She smuggled drugs in her purse, she worked for Doctor Gonzales.
It turns out the doc was a mighty mean man, he couldn?t understand,
That things can get out of hand, I guess hes gonna find out though.
He tried to stop her one night, she pulled out a knife,
There was a struggle and there at the end he fell,
As she ran home, he was on the floor dying.
Wondering bout the things he?d done, wondering bout his life and fun he?d had,
Choices that he made and roads he?d taken,
And he thought about his kids, and all the crazy things he did,
Wondered if anything at all really matters,
Cause when your life is almost over and there?s no hope to be found,
And you?re dying and your blood is spilling out over the ground.
And the last words that he said though he could hardly make a sound,
And he spoke each word in Spanish, cause he couldn?t speak no English,
He said I?m good now?
