Back Against the Wall  Cage the Elephant

Play the two lowest bass notes and the fourth string of
the chord in the verse as shown in the intro
chords: G# 466544
[F#]F#([244322]9) x9-11-11-11-9 (A shape, ninth fret.)
B(7) 799877 (E shape, seventh fret)
B x24442
C# x46664

 |---------|

Intro:
[G#] [F#] [F(9)#] [C#] [B]

 e|-------------------------|
 B|-------------11----6---4-|
 G|--5------3---------------|
 D|-------------11----6---4-|
 A|--6------4---9-----4---2-|
E|--4------2---------------| X4 (listen to song for rhythm)

for the second two bars of the intro a second guitar plays this

play it to this beat 1--2--3--4

[G#]

 e|---------|
 B|-----4---|
 G|----5----|
 D|---6-----|
 A|--6------|
 E|---------| X2

Then during the first bar of the verse about a fourth of a bar before the
singer sings the second guitar plays this one time and make it sound sort
of dramatic as a simple downstroke like 1-2-3-4 but half the speed of the
other part.(if its confusing play the song and listen you'll hear it)

 e|---------|
 B|--4------|
 G|--5------|
 D|--6------|
 A|--6------|
 E|---------| X1

(All chords in the post chorus and chorus are down strokes, with a quick up

I said you've [G#]got me where you want me again!
And-[B(7)]-I can't turn a[C#]way
I'm [G#]hanging by a thread and [F#]I'm feeling like a[C#] fool
I'm [G#]stuck here in between the [B(7)]shadows of my [C#]yesterday
I wa[G#]nt to- get away

[F#]chained down, like [B7]a sitting d[C#]uck
Just waiting for [G#]the fall

Riff 1: (4 bars)(just a guess it goes like this):

 e|--------------------------|
 B|--------------------------|
 G|--------------------------|
 D|-----------6666--8888-----|
 A|--6666666-----------------| X2
 E|--------------------------|
 |---------|

solo 1:(I don't know what it is) (guessing in the g scale) this is a rough
improvisation but it sounds alright if you tweak it hey its better than
nothing!: (use this as sort of a outline for what notes are in it or maybe
you should try a pentatonic on the 6th or 4th frets i don't know)
(v)-vibrato
b- bend (pull down)
p- pull-up
my best advise is listen to the song and improve it, best you can using
these notes and you'll be set

 e|--------------------------------------------|
 B|--------------------------------------------|
 G|--------------------66b8-6h86h86h8(v)hold---|
 D|-----------6b6b--88b------------------------|

 G|--------------------------------------------|
 D|-----------6b6b--88----44b6-4h64h64h6(v)hold|
 A|--66666666----------------------------------|
 E|--------------------------------------------|
 e|--------------------------------------------|

Outro 1:
[G#]Now-- yo[F#]u know
[B7]Yeah, you got my b[C#]ack against the w[G#]all
[F#]Oh gosh, [B7]I aint got no o[C#]ther place to h[G#]ide
[F#]chained down, like [B7]a sitting d[C#]uck-
Just waiting for [G#]the fall
[F#]You know, yeah you [B7]got my back a[C#]gainst the wa[G#]ll.....
End however you want to i think G# works fine.
It's a fun song and all the other tabs didn't help out so i hope this one
did!
