Rambling Through the Avenues of Time  Flight of the Conchords

First of all I'd like to say that this is 100% correct, and I'm sure of it because I looked at
the chords which are conveniently listed with the lyrics in the cd jacket-book-thingy. I'm just
putting the two together and posting them online.(but I might spell something wrong, so lookout!)
[tbings in brackets ] are things jemaine says]
This is how I play the chords:
[D] [D/C#] [D/B] [D/A] [G] [G/F#]
[A]e - - - - 3 (3) 0 5
B 7 7 7 7 3 (3) 0 5
G 7 7 7 7 4 4 0 6
[D] [7] [7] [7] [7] [5] [5] [2] [7]
[A]E [5]- [4]- [-]7 [(5)] 5 [5]3 [5]2 [2]0 [7]5
I was wa[D]ndering through the [D/C#]streets of the c[D/B]ity[D/A]
[G]Rambling through the a[G/F#]venues of ti[Em]me[A]
When from n[D]owhere my[D/C#] eyes fell [D/B]onto a gi[D/A]rl
And by c[G]hance her eye[G/F#]s fell onto min[Em]e[A]
So I s[D]at and I a[D/C#]cted all no[D/B]nchalant[D/A]
She s[G]moked her [G/F#]lavender [Em]cigarette[A]
[D]Reading the [D/C#]future that [D/B]lay in my h[D/A]ands
G G/F# Em(strum once, let ring)
My shadow played a bass clarinet
(Bass clarinet plays, no guitar)
[Wbere are you going witb tbis, Bret?]
We w[D]altzed down a [D/C#]moonlight [D/B]boulevard[D/A]
Just [G]two silh[G/F#]ouettes in the [Em]mist[A]
[Ab, yes?]
[D]Days went [D/C#]by and y[D/B]ears went [D/A]by
[G]Moments went [G/F#]by when we [Em]kissed[A]
[Wben was tbis?]
She said, "You [D]beard is [D/C#]woven of [D/B]heartache[D/A]
And we'll d[G]rink for the [G/F#]lonely t[Em]onight."[A]
And the m[D]oon is a [D/C#]horny old d[D/B]runkard[D/A]
[Ab, BG]ret. Could you [G/F#]please move over to your [Em]right?] [A]
(There is no guitar in this next part, but I'm sure you've figured out the pattern by
now if you wanna play along anyway)
We drank dandelion wine and we reminisced
About the moment when we first met that day
[I'm trying to watcb TV]
Then we reminisced about how we first reminisced
[Ab yeab. Sounds a bit gay]
She handed me a broken memory
A keepsake to forevermore say
That brief taste of love is as sweet as any
And with that, she made her way
[Ob yeab. Wbat was ber name?]
She s[D]aid her n[D/C#]ame was a [D/B]secret[D/A]
Then she [G]said her [G/F#]name was Ch[Em]erie[A]
[Is ber mD]iddle name Cherie,[D/C#] so [D/B]it's a Sec[D/A]ret Cherie, maybe?]
[G] [G/F#] Mm.. [Em]Maybe[A]
[Wbat did sbe look like?]
She l[D]ooked like a [D/C#]Parisian [D/B]river[D/A]
[Wbat, dirty?]
She l[G]ooked like a [G/F#]chocolate éc[Em]lair[A]
[Tbat's rare]
Her e[D]yes were r[D/C#]eflections of [D/B]eyes[D/A]
[Ob, nice]
And the r[G]ainbows d[G/F#]anced in her h[Em]air[A]
[Ob yeab..]
She rem[D]inded me of a [D/C#]winter's mornin[D/B]g[D/A]
[Wbat, frigid?]
Her perf[G]ume was e[G/F#]au de toilett[Em]e[A]
[Wbat's tbat mean?]
She was [D]comparable to [D/C#]Cleop[D/B]atra[D/A]
[Quite old?]
She was like S[G]hakespeare'[G/F#]s Juliet[Em] [A]
[Tbirteen?!]
The boh[D]emians of [D/C#]Soho did [D/B]pirouettes[D/A]
As we [G]waltzed through the s[G/F#]treets of Man[Em]hattan[A]
On [D]rivers of [D/C#]ribbon and [D/B]sailboats of s[D/A]ong
[G] [Bret, did G/F#]any of this actually[Em] happen?] [A]
(guitar drops out here)
The girl I described, she's as real as the wind
It's true I saw her today
The other details are inventions
Because I prefer her that way
