Four Simple Words  Frank Turner

Frank Turner - Four Simple Words
This is as close to what Frank plays as I can deduce, I know for a fact there is at
least one area where he transitions through three different chords, however, I cannot hear
this at all, and I cannot make out the chords from his hands on the video I am using.
*The symbols used in this tab are visual representations of what should be done. A '~'
means hold the chord, a '.' represents staccato, 'X' is an open strum.
**I hope you enjoy playing this song :)
-INTRO-
C~ E~
Because we're all so very 21st century,
Am~ Dm~
you're probably listening to me on some form of portable stereo.
C~
Maybe you're sitting at the back of the bus,
E~
or it's running up your sleeve and you're across from your boss,
Am~ F~
or you're sitting in your bedroom on your own with the lights down low.
Dm~ G~
I'd like to teach you four simple words, so that next time you come to a show
C~ F~
you can sing those words back at me, like they're the only words that you know.
-INTRO/CHORUS-
I want to d[C]ance.
I want to d[E]ance.
I want l[Am]ust and love and a smattering of ro[Dm]mance.
But, I'm no good at d[C]ancing,
and yet I have to do s[E]omething.
Ton[Am]ight I'm gonna play it straight,
I'm gonna take my c[Dm]hance.
C~
I want to dance.
-VERSE-
Heigh [Am]ho. Heigh ho. Heigh ho.
We're heading [Dm]out to the punk rock show.
Colleagues and f[C]riends come and stand with smile.
Yeah, this is my c[G]ulture, man, this is my home.
___________[Am]____ gather at the gate, yeah,
the doors are at [Dm]7 and the show starts at 8,
Seven solid [C]hours in a space of my own,
and when the band comes [G]on the only thing I really know.
-CHORUS-
I want to d[C]ance.
I want to d[E]ance.
I want l[Am]ust and love and a smattering of ro[Dm]mance.
But, I'm no good at d[C]ancing,
and yet I have to do s[E]omething.
Ton[Am]ight I'm gonna play it straight,
I'm gonna take my c[Dm]hance.
C.C.C.C.C.C.C.C.
I want to dance.
-SOLO-
[Am] [Dm] [C] [G]
-VERSE-
Is any[Am]body else sick of the music that's churned out by [Dm]night clubs and _____________
Oh, it's all s[C]ex, drugs and sins,
and erections(?) and skins,(?)
but it's o[G]kay, because they don't really mean it.
I want b[Am]ands who head to work without a key,
drive a thousand m[Dm]iles and play the show with no sleep.
Sleeping on the f[C]loor around a strangers place,
only just to [G]do it all again the next day.
-CHORUS-
I want to d[C]ance.
I want to d[E]ance.
I want l[Am]ust and love and a smattering of ro[Dm]mance.
But, I'm no good at d[C]ancing,
and yet I have to do s[E]omething.
Ton[Am]ight I'm gonna play it straight,
I'm gonna take my c[Dm]hance.
C.C.C.C.C.C.C.C. - XX~
I want to dance.
-BREAKDOWN-
Am(pm)
Put your hands on your hips,
Am(pm)
and bring your knees in tight.
Am(pm)
Yeah, we do this thing together, man.
Am(pm)
No fists, no fights.
We're not trying to save the w[Dm]orld.
Some people think like [G]us.
We just want our own s[C]pace to dance man.
No ____, no f[Am]uss.
Yeah, on blood, sweat and [Dm]bile we're gonna build ourselves a house
where if the roof is on [G]fire then we're gonna put it out.
Forget about your b[C]**ching and remember that you're blessed,
punk is for the k[Fmaj7]ids who never fit in with the rest. All right.
Dm~
Somebody told that music with guitars
G~
was going out of fashion and I had to laugh.
C~
This sh*t wasn't fashionable when I fell in love.
F~ Fm.Fm.Fm.Fm.Fm.Fm.Fm~
If the 'hipsters' move on, why should I give a f**k?
-'FREDDIE' CHORUS-
I want to da[C]nce.
I want to da[E]nce.[Am]
I want me some lust, some love and a smattering of that all-time[Dm] romance.
But, I'm no good at d[C]ancing,
yet I have to do s[E]omething.
T[Am]onight I'm gonna play it straight, I', gonna take [Dm]my chance.
-OUTRO/CHORUS-
Yeah, I want to d[C]ance.
I want to d[E]ance.
I want [Am]you and me both joined hands down at the [Dm]front.
So, the next time I [C]see you, remember these w[E]ords.
Let's [Am]say we knock the barriers down, we're all friends.
[Dm]________________ singing
C.C.C.C.C.C.C.C.C.
Four simple words.
