Hold the Morning Hey Marseilles
(EDIT: Turns out the Dm was an Am and I am completely blind for not noticing it. Thanks
to Charlie Rubash for the correction!)

are that way inclined :)
*** A Note on C ***
Charlie has also said that the C should be a C/G, i.e.
--0--
--1--
--0--
--2--
--3--
--3--
And it certainly gives the chord a fuller sound, but I don't think Matt plays the low E
on that chord - at least not at the start.
It's down to personal choice, I think. It certainly might be useful to substitute C/G in
the later verses where it all gets a bit loud
and exciting.

Standard Tuning
Capo 2
[C]Thank you for the invite
To [F]dance on golden [C]streets
[C]Leave the broken skyline
And [F]charcoal cloud de[C]bris
[Am]I would likely [F]join you if I weren't [C]busy
But [Am]tonight my con[F]fession list is [C]long
I will s[G]it back, relax, and [F]hold my head to the [C]sun
[G]Sit back, relax, and [F]hold my head to the [C]sun.
[C]We will sing to thunder
[F]Clap as the earth [C]shakes
[C]Hug under a hurricane
As we [F]bypass the fiery [C]lake
[Am]I will read my [F]scripture in Dosto[C]evsky
[Am]Change my tele[F]vision to twenty [C]three
I will [G]sit back, relax and [F]wait for what's coming to [C]me
[G]Sit back, relax and [F]hold my head to the [C]sea.
[F]We will [C]leave our [G]sails on [C]trees
[F]While [C]chariots swing [G]by the [C]breeze
[F]Lift our [C]lamps un[G]to the [C]streets
May [F]all the [C]kings and [G]soldiers [Am]see
Our lives are [F]lonely en[G]ough without dest[C]ruction
[Am]Calm your cares and [F]families
And [G]I will hold the morning for you
[C]Take the time for townships and [F]classics to be [C]read
[C]Finding all the soft skin that will [F]fit in a feather [C]bed
[Am]Let me spread my [F]paper and sleep for [C]centuries
The [Am]door will be there [F]if you choose to re[C]turn
I will [G]sit back, relax and [F]watch the mountain[C]tops burn
[G]Sit back, relax and [F]wait for my voice to be [C]heard.
[F]We will [C]leave our [G]sails on [C]trees
[F]While [C]chariots swing [G]by the [C]breeze
[F]Lift our [C]lamps un[G]to the [C]streets
May [F]all the [C]kings and [G]soldiers [C]see
[Am]All our lives are [F]lonely en[G]ough without dest[C]ruction
[Am]Calm your cares and [F]families
And [G]be part of div[C]ision
[Am]All our lives are [F]lonely en[G]ough without dest[C]ruction
[Am]Calm your cares and [F]families
And [G]I will hold the morning for you
And [G]I will hold the morning for you[C]
