One Hundred Million Years M. Ward
M. Ward
6/27/2010
this is my first tab, but there's not
a real good sounding tab of this on here
so i thought i would do one.
its not at all how M.Ward plays it but it sounds good so have fun
with it, its really easy.
this doesnt include the strumming pattern or anything but you should be
able to figure it out.
you can really improve your finger picking if you play around with it.
Drop D Tuning, so the G fingering is a little different.
Chords (low to high, left to right)

pick around with Dsus2 using the top d as your bass note
[Dsus2]this river that we ride
has always been alive
(you can throw in this little riff during this break in the verse,
ward does it live)
(riff 2)

One hundred [A]million [Dsus2]years
[Dsus2]this river that we ride
will roll on when we die
(riff 2)
[Dsus2]Oh, my soul
One hundred [A]million [Dsus2]years
And this l[G]ove
this love betw[Dsus2]een you and I
is o[G]lder than that burning ball of f[A]ire in the sky
and the g[G]ale that fills our sails
(riff 1)
[Dsus2]and the lights that shine tonight
have always been alive
(riff 2)
Oh, my soul one hundred [A]million years
[Dsus2]yeah the lights that shine tonight

(riff 2)
Oh, my soul one hundred [A]million years
And this [G]love
this love [Dsus2]between you and I
Is o[G]lder than that burning ball of [A]fire up in the sky
and the [G]gale that fills our sails
(riff 1)
you can play this during the chorus and/or during the instrumental bridge. its a more
depiction of the melody of the chorus that m ward plays live often
E|---3----3---5s7-5------5s7------------3---3----5s7------5s7------------| B|---3--3----------7--------7---5b-3----3-3----------7--------7----5b-3--| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---5------5----------0------0------0--5----5----------0--------0------0| E|---3----3---5s7-5------5s7-----------------------------------------------| B|---3--3----------7--------7---5b-3----------2--2----3s5-2-2h3---3--------| G|--------------------------------------------2---2---------------2--------| D|--------------------------------------------2----2-----------------------| A|----------------------------------------0--------------------------------| D|---5------5----------0------0------0----------------------------0--------|
Again, its not how M ward plays it, especially in the chorus
(he uses some descending jazz chords that i cant quite figure out),
but it sounds good and is so beautiful and fun to play around with.
i think its one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard.
