Dear Friend  Charlie Peacock

This is an old one by Charlie Peacock. It's a beautiful song, with a really
powerful message about God's timing. The chords are kind of repetitive, but
you can make it sound really good if you finger pick on the verses, and
then strum on the chorus. Any questions, please mail me.
Dear Friend
Charlie Peacock
Dear fri[G]end, there's a s[D]tory goin'round sa[Cmaj9]ys you're gonna be married=
But [G]you've been sayin'that for y[D]ears,
and there can [Cmaj9]be no wedding without a groom
You s[G]aid he's gone a[D]way to make a [Cmaj9]place for you and Him
Oh you [G]know He's gonna [D]come back, but you [Cmaj9]just don't know when
Dear f[G]riends He is [D]not slow in [Cmaj9]keeping His promises
As s[G]ome unders[D]tand s[Cmaj9]lowness to be
Keep a w[G]atch out, don't l[D]ose faith, He s[Cmaj9]aid He would come for you
H[G]e's gonna c[D]ome for you, [Cmaj9]you wait and see
Dear f[G]riend, people j[D]oke, they l[Cmaj9]augh and they make fun
When you t[G]ell 'em all a[D]bout the g[Cmaj9]room who's gonna come
[G]He's been gone a [D]long long time, are there [Cmaj9]any doubts to confess
Do you w[G]onder if you're e[D]ver gonna [Cmaj9]wear that wedding dress
Cmaj9: 030230 (A regular C would be 010230)
I use a standard D, and I form the G with only two fingers
(i.e. 3000x3 muting the A string with the finger that's making the root G)
-- Just my suggestions...
Enjoy, and God Bless
