Drop of Paint  Amber Rubarth

Standard tuning
[E]Had my canvas primed in white, some w[B]ater by my bed,
A wooden pa[A]lette smeared with reds and grays and b[E]lues,
Dipped my brush into the paint, traced the ou[B]tline of your face,
Then I wa[A]shed it clean for color number t[E]wo.
There's a li[A]ttle drop of paint in a m[B]ason jar of water,
That turned every last ounce a crimson [C#m]hue,
And i[A]t's the same with you, you had a m[B]inute with my heart,
Now you color everything that I [E]do.
S[E]tew pot's on the boil, h[B]ouse was filled with steam,
Bo[A]wls and spoons in twos like Noah's a[E]rk,
Dash of salt and spice to m[B]ake it like you like,
Br[A]ing it to my lips and there you a[E]re.
There's a li[A]ttle pinch of salt in a l[B]adle full of comfort,
That opens all the flavors into b[C#m]loom,
And i[A]t's the same with you, you had a m[B]inute with my heart,
And now you color everything that I [E]do.
A f[C#m]lower turns its face to the [F#]sun,
S[B]now melting makes the river r[E]un,
T[A]ide rises high to meet the m[G#]oon, meet the moon.

There's an e[A]cho in my ear so[B]unding like your voice,
A feeling that fills any empty [C#m]room,
You had a m[A]inute with my heart and I li[B]ve it every day,
'Cause when you brushed against my heart it soaked t[C#m]hrough,
And n[A]ow my whole world is tinted [F#]with you,
Yeah, you co[A]lor everyt[B]hing that I [E]do.
[B] [E]
*leading into the Chorus there's also a little bass note walk-up: E/ F#/ G#
