Band Website: www.freelancewhales.com
Freelance Whales ? Dark Horse
Capo 7
Chords (relative to capo, ya kook):
e| [Am] 0 [C]0 [G]0 [F]0 [F]0 [F]0
B| 1 1 0 0 0 0
D| 2 0 0 0 or 0 or 0
G| 2 2 0 0 2 2
A| 0 3 2 0 0 3
E| X X 3 1 1 1
He changes how he plays the F. While picking he plays all the
strings open except the bass note. While strumming (chorus)
he adds the others too (I think) but it?s definitely not a full
F, and these sound nice. Sounds like an Iron & Wine F to me.
For finger picking technique, it?s easy, hit the bass note,
Then find your way to the high note (E string on Am and B string
nn the other three chords. Think Jezebel...(kind of)

[Am]October's got those[C] orange eyes
But [G]somehow I [F]still lost sight
[Am]When you lifted the [C]lid off of my [G]pumpkin head
And [F]kissed me goodnight
[Am]Should it be a [C]thorn in my side
We [G]never quite [F]broke that horse
[Am]She slept in the [C]cul-de-sac right
[G]Seven miles from [F]my front porch
Am C G F*
[Am] [C] [G] [G]
|VERSE 2|
[Am]Bundle up and [C]come with me now
[G]Down the road where to the [F]burnt down barn
[Am]We could make a [C]blanket of coats
And [G]breathe our souls into the [F]neighbour?s front lawn
[Am]But oh god that [C]look in your eye
[G]Trouble that does [F]not search words
[Am]It sprung from the [C]biblical vine
And are [G]waiting to re[F]turn to the dirt
Am C G F*
[Am] [C] [G] [G]
|CHORUS|
The s[Am]titches in your [C]winter clothes
Your [G]cello bows
We [F]stole your hair to make them
We're s[Am]orry for the [C]iron shoes
We [G]nailed to you
And [F]stuck you in the rain
And then [Am]you sprinted aw[C]ay
Sprinted aw[G]ay to where I don't[F] know
[Am]God's moving in your [C]bloodstream
Where the [G]cross beats aren't so [F]slow
Am C G F*
Am C G F*
Am C G F*

|VERSE 3|
[Am]You swept all the [C]red from my cheeks
I [G]didn't hear you [F]come back inside
[Am]And light up the [C]gas in the den
And [G]stand there in the [F]thin winter light
[Am]But oh god that [C]curve in your spine
A [G]question mark , A d[F]octor sign
[Am]was framed by the [C]windowsill
And you [G]saw something I [F]did not end that night
You [Am]saw something I [C]did not end that night
[G] [F]
|CHORUS|
The s[Am]titches in your [C]winter clothes
Your [G]cello bows

[Am]God's moving in your [C]bloodstream
Where the [G]cross beats aren't so [F]slow
[Am]God's moving in your [C]bloodstream
Where the [G]cross beats aren't so [F]slow
[Am]God's moving in your [C]bloodstream
Where the [G]cross beats aren't so [F]slow
[Am]God's moving in your [C]bloodstream
Where the [G]cross beats aren't so [F]slow
