and johnny never played in G hardly less it was capo'd cause he couldnt sing in G..He

Hi,
This is definitely the authentic way to play the song. Just something about the lyrics. Too much copy&pasting in tab world.
There's some juicy american language in this one:
It's not "but she just walked up the block" or even "off the bus" but "she'd just walked up the bluff" (bluff: steep river shore)
Also it's not "...enough, dump my blues down in the Gulf" but "...enough, of my blues down in the guff" (Guff: a Jewish idea, something like the home off all souls; the body that houses it, or something.
