Heyday Mic Christopher
Tabbed by Marcus Swan.
I've seen a few tabs of this great song around but they're all a bit off.
The song is played without a capo which makes it a bit more difficult than at first
but don't let that stop you playing it! There's a great live video of Mic playing this song
Youtube, Which I've taken the chords from that's worth checking out;
Chords
I've just put in the main chords as some of the shapes aren't whole chords or there are
strings being played
VERSE & CHORUS
[E-A-D-G-B-E]
A 5-7-7-6-0-0-| D X-5-7-6-0-0-| C# X-4-7-6-0-0-| Bsus7 7-4-7-6-0-0----------|
BRIDGE
B7/F# 2-2-0-2-3-0-------------------| (use your thumb on the base string) Dsus2/G 3-0-0-2-3-0-|
STRUM
The strum is fairly easy; for the chorus hit the base note of the chord then strum the
chord Up/Down/Up. Play it a little harder for the Chorus. For the Bridge don't pick the
note and strum quite softly. listen to the song for the exact timing.
[intro/verse 1]
A D C# Bsus7 x2
For the [A]sun, for the lig[D]ht
For the [C#]ride and for the mas[Bsus7]ters
Oh we co[A]me to be [D]kind
To be [C#]warm here and [Bsus7]after
We've been [A]out, but we're [D]back
Because we're [C#]graced in these [Bsus7]matters
And we'll [A]ris[D]e.[C#] [Bsus7]
[verse 2]
And we did a little [A]love, but we [D]walked,
We make a [C#]sound for the [Bsus7]mesto
Make a little [A]call to the [D]right
To the [C#]ball and to the [Bsus7]mast-top
And we...
[Bridge]
B7/f#
...We fool around now and again, we're looking good
But just as [Dsus2/G]friends
[Cborus]
And this is our [A]hey[D]day [C#]bab[Bsus7]y
And we're not gonna [A]be [D]afraid to [C#]shout[Bsus7]
'Cause we can make our [A]hey[D]day last [C#]foreve[Bsus7]r
And ain't that w[A]hat it's [D]all about, oh [C#]living,
in [Bsus7]our own terrible [A]way[D] [C#] [Bsus7]
[A] [D] [C#] [Bsus7]
[Verse 2]
And we lack a little [A]love, but a [D]sign
A [C#]sign to get a little [Bsus7]messed up
Picking up the [A]rules, for the [D]chimes
Making up [C#]minds and making it [Bsus7]last us
'Cause we live [A]alone, and now we're [D]grown
And we [C#]know what we're [Bsus7]after
And we'll [A]rise[D] [C#] [Bsus7]
[Bridge]
B7/f#
And we fool around now and again, we're looking good
But just as [Dsus2/G]friends
[Cborus]
And this is our [A]hey[D]day [C#]bab[Bsus7]y
And we're not gonna b[A]e a[D]fraid to [C#]shout[Bsus7]
'Cause we can make our [A]hey[D]day last [C#]foreve[Bsus7]r
And ain't that w[A]hat it's [D]all about[C#],[Bsus7]
[Bridge]
B7/f#
We fool around now and again, we're looking good
Just as [Dsus2/G]friends...
[Outro]
So we have ourselves a [A]break, and when we're [D]done
And we [C#]come to our [Bsus7]senses,
And we [A]ris[D]e...[C#] [Bsus7]
Oh then we'll [A]ris[D]e[C#] [Bsus7]
'Cause this is our [A]hey[D]day [C#]bab[Bsus7]y,
This is our [A]hey[D]day [C#]bab[Bsus7]y,
This is our [A]hey[D]day [C#]bab[Bsus7]y,
Yeah, yeah, [A]yea[D]h[C#] [Bsus7] [A]
[End]
Hope this comes in handy and don't be afraid to sing nice and loud!
